Current Event Article #1

In a article about a panda cub dieing at the Smithsonian, the writer tells us about panda cub.

The panda cub dieing is saddening and reminds me of my dog who died. Having a friend so close to me and than in one day it is gone takes a emotional toll and for this panda cub to die, the mom must feel horrible. In the article, it states that the mother's distress calls alerted the zookeepers about the panda cub and they tried to revive it but alas, they could not.

This article also reminds me of one of the books in the Lightning Thief Series when percy and annabeth are on a area and percy sacrifices himself to destroy the army while annabeth left. They thought Percy had died and the camp felt sorrow because of percy's assumed death. Death is saddening to everyone even animals.

Remembering 9/11

The designers and builders of the new 1 World Trade Center have built the tower with more ingenuity in the design to show America is not hurting anymore from the attacks, but is instead becoming better. The Tower stands 1776ft in the air, not only being the tallest building in the United States but also representing the year of birth for the United States of America. At 1776ft tall, the tower is a marvel across new york and symbolizes Americas readiness to push though and start rebuilding itself to its vast glory.

My Reading bucket list

  1. Lock Down Solitary Death Sentence Fugitive - by Alexander Gordon Smith: This book was recommended to me by a friend who has read a lot of books and so I would like to read it mainly because the title intrigues me. I love books about having to fend against others for your safety with an imminent threat about and adventure and this book seems to fit that so hopefully the book wont fail me.
  2. The Way of Shadows - by Brent Weeks: This book was recommended to me by another friend whose been reading the series for some time and I absolutely love series. Also the book shows the main character as mysterious and deadly which are two combinations that I love to see when reading a book like this. This book contains all my wants into a series which I will definitely have to read.
  3. The Alchemyst - Michael Scott :I've knew about this book for some time but have yet to read it. It intrigues me because it involves main big figures from the past that find fascinating. All with a story around it and it all intertwines into this amazing story which shows vast detail and so I definitely would want to read something like that.
  4. Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter - Seth Graham-smith: Due to Mrs.Gilmore's small story about how amazing the book was, I thought that it is probably worth reading. Especially when it involves our Sixtenth president Abraham Lincoln but even better is that he is a Vampire Hunter. It brings us back to a older time but with vampires with who Abraham has to kill. This sounds incredible and a book that is probably worth while to read.
  5. Shadows Edge - Brenth Weeks :The second book to a series that begin with the way of shadows. Why only read just the beginning when I can read even more. My friend says that the book is extremely good and pretty graphic, just the way I like it. And if the first book is that good, than the second should be just as good and hopefully, I am correct.
  6. The Book Thief - Markus Zusak :I don't really know this book very well but due to the recent talk about it, it must be good somehow. I learn not to ever judge a book by its cover because if I did that, I would have never read the lightning Thief which is my absolute favorite. So this book could very well as entertaining as other books I've read.
  7. Divergent - by Veronic Roth : When looking about books, we came across this book about a place that pretty much controls part of your life by choosing who you are going to marry. It interests me because I know something is going to happen and the main character is going to stop this and I like to see how plans unfold in books that shows the people overthrowing the government to create better lives like this book probably will do.
  8. Maze Runner - James Dasher : I did read part of this book but only a dent into the book. In the short time that I've read the book it shows about a place separate from other places where teenagers and kids are there to defend for themselves. Survival stories like this makes it amazing to me to see how they survive against the odds which is why I want to read this book.
  9. The Hobbit - J. R.R Tolkien : I myself am a huge fan of Lord of the Rings. I absolutely love it and The Hobbit is my way of keeping to the story that I like. Since others are really interested in reading the book, it must be spectacular and so I must read because I am always looking for new books to read.
  10. The Associate - John Grisham : This book was recommended to me by my friend who also reads similar books to what I read and it seems like it would be amazing. I don't know a whole lot about this book but reading into something unknown makes me wonder whats going to happen and so I want to read this book.
